Yes, dogs can have a small amount of our Original Beef bone broth: no more than half a teaspoon. Original Beef is the only flavour we suggest for pets, because it is just beef and evaporated sea salt. Stir it into a little hot water, let it cool, then serve. Garlic & Herb, Turmeric and Mushroom are made for people. If your dog has a health condition or a special diet, ask your vet first.
How much bone broth can I give my dog?
No more than half a teaspoon of our concentrate. A person's serving is generally 2 teaspoons (10g) to a cup of hot water, so a dog's amount is a quarter of that at most.
Bone broth concentrate is bone broth that has been reduced down, so a little goes a long way. So we keep the pet amount small. Use a measuring spoon rather than guessing, and level it off.
What about salt? Original Beef contains evaporated sea salt, which is one more reason we keep a dog's amount to half a teaspoon at most. Don't add any extra salt or seasoning to your dog's portion.
Which bone broth is suitable for dogs?
Our Original Beef is the one we suggest. It is made from beef and evaporated sea salt, with nothing else in the jar. The cattle are 100% grass-fed, from Australia and New Zealand, and the broth is made in Queensland. The bones are slow-cooked for 48 hours and then concentrated.
Our other flavours include Garlic & Herb, Turmeric and Mushroom. They are made for people, and pets stay with Original Beef.
How do I serve bone broth to my dog?
- Measure no more than half a teaspoon of Original Beef concentrate.
- Stir it into a little hot water until it dissolves.
- Let it cool fully before it goes near your dog.
- Offer it as a small extra alongside their usual food.
Is bone broth good for dogs?
We make no health claims for pets, so we cannot say it is good for dogs. What we can tell you is what is in the jar and how much we suggest: Original Beef, at no more than half a teaspoon. Your vet is the right person to ask whether it suits your own dog.
Can I use the same jar for me and my dog?
Yes, if it is Original Beef. A 375g bottle is 37 servings for people, so it goes a long way in a household. Our founder Saul says: "Mostly a mug in the morning but I also use it for adding protein to my rice or as part of a stir-fry". Ideas for your own mug and cooking are in how to use bone broth concentrate.
How do I store it?
Unopened jars last 12 months, but check the best-before date on the jar. Once opened, keep it in the fridge with the lid on and use it within 4-6 weeks. Opened broth can be frozen. More detail is in how to store bone broth.
What if I do not like it?
If you do not like it within 30 days, message us and we will refund your money. You do not need to send it back. Delivery takes up to 3-5 working days.
